Keynote Speaker: Becky Anderson


Becky Anderson is co-owner of Anderson’s Bookshops and Anderson’s Bookfair Company in Naperville, Aurora, Downer’s Grove and LaGrange. She is the fifth generation to co-manage the family owned and operated businesses, which had their beginnings in Naperville in 1875. She is the past President of the American Booksellers Association where she served for seven years. Anderson’s Bookshops won the Publisher’s Weekly Bookseller of the Year Award in 2011. The Illinois Reading Council in 2014 awarded her with the Hall of Fame award for significant contributions to reading and reading education. Becky is a strong supporter of the local business community and founded IndieBound Naperville, an independent business alliance, to celebrate locally owned independent business to educate consumers why a healthy community supports businesses that give back, keep dollars in our community, embrace uniqueness and so much more. “Put your money where your heart is – home.” Last year Becky was elected to the Naperville City Council, winning a four-year term. She encourages you to volunteer, to “Be a part of this community and put some stake in what we are and what we will be.” She truly lives by this mantra and is a real treasure to the entire community.
